COMPETENT COMMUNICATOR SPEECH 1, 6 and 10
It is always exciting to hear an Ice Breaker from a new Toastmaster, and Paul did an excellent job of his speech called "Has Paul Made a Difference. He shared some very interesting parts of his work and volunteer life.
Our second speech, CC # 6, Vocal Variety was presented by JianLi and his passion was obvious in "A Little Girl - A Big Difference", as he shared the story of a young girl who worked to save children from getting malaria by supplying nets to their villages in Africa.
To conclude our trio of speeches a Julie presented her CC#10th, "Do Something Different- Make The Change", you could see the confidence she has gained completing the Competent Communicator.

30 People - Excellent Turnout
Eggcellent turnout for our Easter themed meeting as we had
30 individuals, 24 Igniters and 6 guests on March 22, 2016.
Rick, our first speaker
did an awesome job of his CC #1, Icebreaker speech, titled “It’s About Time”. Speaker
two, Julie presented great visuals and great enthusiasm for
her CC #8 speech “Chinese Characters” that taught us the meaning and how
to write a few Chinese characters.
It was great to hear Ellen’s club
competition winning speech ‘What You Want, What You Get”. We are very lucky to have such a variety of presenters
and splendid evaluators to share their skills with us.

Icebreaker Speeches
Our Toastmaster Stephen did an awesome job of keeping our Sept. 1st meeting running smoothly. With three speeches, table topics and a surprise celebration it was not an easy task.
Congratulations to Edward and Lisa for accomplishing their first speech, the Icebreaker. Edward's talk was called The Traveller Beneath the Tree and used the analogy of travellers meeting under a tree during a storm and then parting when the weather improved. It was an excellent comparison of a person moving through life touching different people.
Lisa spoke about her lifelong love of reading, which definitely encouraged each of us to grab a book and settle into a comfortable chair.
Thank you both for sharing these excellent speeches with us.
